Light doesn't arrive till 7:30 or so, noticeably later than in Torres Del Paine. I get out of the tent to stroll around a bit and stretch my muscles. I look over my shoulder and was shocked by my first glimpse of Cerro Torre! There it stood in all it's grandeur, it's peaks snow white with such a dark blue sky behind. Stunning! I race back to the tent and tell Bert and he dashes off with his camera to capture the sun's first rays. He forgets his big lens, so I follow him - running all the way - to deliver it. Then I realize Niels Peter would probably love to capture this view as well and run all the way back to rouse him.
